Southwell Racecourse as always beat the weather yesterday to stage their first evening races of the month with Hareem Queen taking the biggest prize of the night to win the 18:10 4f 214y Betway Supporting Responsible Gambling Class 4 Handicap.
The horse trained by KR Burke and ridden by PJ McDonald went slightly right at the start but led comfortably and was clear inside the last furling to take home the £5,208 winning prize.
Two other races offered prizes over £3,000 the 17:40 Ladbrokes Where The Nation Plays Novice Stakes which was won by The Bell Conductor and the 19:10 Bombardier Golden Beer Handicap won by Fancy Footings a 14/1 shot ridden by Richard Kingscote and trained by Tom Dascombe.
The first race of the day went to trainer Keith Dalgleish with 3/1 joint favourite Ventura Destiny coming home ridden by Ben Sanderson with JP Sullivan on Loulin winning the Class 6 Betway Heed Your Hunch Classified Stakes.
Finally Faye McManoman won on Atwaar in the 18:40 with Finley Marsh and Richard Hughes celebrating victory in the 19:40 as Charlie Arthur got over an awkward start to win comfortably before Barry McHugh won on Blyton Lass in the last race of the night to pick up £2,782.
