Panthers Win At Clan

Glasgow Clan 0-3 Nottingham Panthers (Elite League) 29.11.19

On Friday night Nottingham Panthers moved to fifth in the Elite League table after beating second placed Glasgow Clan 3-0 in Scotland thanks to goals by Brett Bulmer, Julian Talbot and Jake Hansen.

The Panthers 10th win in 13 matches was a painful one for the Scottish high-flyers having themselves fallen of late to two successive defeats and a draw in their last three games.

After a scoreless first period Panthers hit the lead when Bulmer smashed home from range on 11.29 in the second period before a great carry by Malmquist in the third found Julian Talbot to fire home less than five minutes in. Less than two minutes later two became three when Sam Herr’s shot deflected into the path of American forward Jake Hansen who slotted in to ensure Nottingham would take all the points back to England.

The match included 27 saves from netminder Kevin Carr who’s on top form right now as Coach Tim Wallace praised his efforts once again stating “Kevin played really well for us” with Wallace saying of his sides performance “It was a really good hockey game, we had an ok first, we didn’t give them a lot and then we just started playing our game”

Wallace stated “Our second (period) was really good, we were shorthanded most of the third but the guys battled hard and did what it took”

“A really good team win we were smart defensively and we just have to keep going and be ready to play on Sunday at home”.

Next up for Panthers is top of the table Sheffield Steelers on Sunday night at the Motorpoint Arena.
