It was a tough weekend for Nottingham’s top women’s and men’s basketball sides as both the Wildcats and Hoods were beaten in league action.
The Wildcats suffered 74-81 defeat at Durham Palatinates with the former league leaders suffering only their second loss of the season and dropping down in the table to fifth in a five way split of sides level on points with 12 points from eight games played.
Nottingham Hoods lost convincingly to top of the table Team Solent Kestrels 113-69 as the NBL’s best team continued their promotion push with 12 wins from 12.
In the women’s NBL Division One Nottingham Trent University beat Loughborough Riders 71-61 with NTU now 7th in the table whilst in Division Three Midlands men’s team Mansfield Giants were beaten 87-80 by Stourport Spartans.
This weekend Nottingham Hoods take on Liverpool in their last match before Christmas whilst the Wildcats go into a two week festive break with their next match in the New Year at home to BA London Lions.
