Eastwood Community are through to the fourth round of the Nottinghamshire Senior FA Cup after beating AFC Dunkirk 5-1 at the Ron Steel Sports Ground.
The Red Badgers made five changers after Saturday’s defeat at Sherwood Colliery with new signing Mark Rathbone in goal after joining from Belper United.
It didn’t take long for the away team to take the lead when Ben Gowing headed home a Matt Antcliff cross on nine minutes and Eastwood were 2-0 up on 26 when Gowing robbed the goalkeeper to finish from a tight angle.
A minute into the second half Antcliff got on the scoresheet running onto Paddy Webb’s forward pass before Dunkirk pulled one back on 47 with a header deflected home.
Webb made it 4-1 however finishing on the rebound from David Leak’s well saved header before Gowing finished things off with his hat-trick on 71 minutes after good work again from Antcliff.
