Notts Face Chesterfield With Absentees

Notts County are set to be without up to six players for the BT Sports live National League encounter tomorrow evening verses Chesterfield.

Manager Neal Ardley has a selection headache with Sam Slocombe and Damien McCrory missing last weeks defeat to Dagenham with more potentially side-lined including Dion Kelly-Evans, Zoumana Bakayokgo, Ben Turner & Regan Booty.

Ahead of the game Ardley stated “It’s not good timing but whenever we’ve had these challenges the squad has come together.”

“We’ve dug out results before and hopefully we do the same this weekend.”

Jim O’Brien recently returned from long injury lay off and he might be recalled to starting selection as a replacement for Michael Doyle who was sent off last week. Ross Fitzsimons recalled only a week ago from Chesterfield is likely to keep his shirt in goal covering the injured Slocombe whilst new signing Cal Roberts will be looking for his first goal at the club in front of the TV cameras.

The club have been installing new scoreboards this week so it will be great to see them on show. Kick Off at Meadow Lane is 5:20pm with a minutes applause held prior to the match for former Spireite Jordan Sinnott who tragically died last week after an altercation in Retford.

Sinnott who played for Matlock Town was also close friends with Notts forward Kristian Dennis who also had a spell at Chesterfield.

Dennis like many others has helped promote the idea of Tom Sinnott (Jordan’s brother) to house a shirt from any football team willing to donate with the no25 Sinnott across the back that will be displayed at the funeral and donated to sports relief for young children to benefit from.

Many of the teams across the county of Nottinghamshire have already donated with Notts County also contributing their famous black and white shirt to the Sinnott family.
