Woods To Fight Dickens

Featherweight boxer Leigh Wood has been drawn to fight Jazza Dickens in the semi-final of the Golden Contract this Friday at the Royal Albert Hall.

On hearing the news live on Sky Wood stated “It’s a good fight for sky and for TV, Jazza has a lot of experience is a good fighter with British titles on his resume and it’s going to be a great fight”.

The Nottingham boxer has a 23-1 record winning his last twelve fights and goes into the match up as favourite against Dickens from Liverpool who has a 28-3 record.

Dickens stated “it is what it is, and I’m happy with my opponent” before shaking hands with Wood wishing him “all the best”.

The winner of the fight will face either Ryan Walsh or Tyrone McCullagh for the Golden Contract after Walsh won the Golden Ball to pick the opponent of his choice at the draw in doing so evading both Wood and Dickens for his passage to the final.

All the action including the super lightweights division will be televised LIVE on Sky Sports Action this Friday night at 7:30pm with Wood now knowing his opponent he’ll be ensuring he’s in top form as he hopefully delivers a win that will take him to the final showdown and a lucrative new sponsorship deal.
