Slater Joins Leicestershire

Ben Slater has joined Leicestershire on loan from Nottinghamshire for 2 weeks as county cricket returns to a league format of sorts this weekend.

The Bob Willis Trophy gets under way on Saturday with Notts in action verses Derbyshire at a closed Trent Bridge whilst Leicestershire will give Slater his debut against Lancashire at the Fischer County Ground.

This summer’s four day competition has been split into three divisions with a North, Central and South section and the top two teams overall will play in a final in September to determine the winners.

Notts warmed up for their competitive start to the season tomorrow with a couple of friendlies against Warwickshire and Leicestershire with Joe Clarke hitting a century earlier in the week the pick of the performances pre-season.

The start to Nottinghamshire’s cricket campaign tomorrow will be shown live on the Trent Bridge website (here) from 11am with all games this season covered via enhanced streaming so you will not miss a thing.

Notts Squad: Jake Ball, Tom Barber, Zak Chappell, Joe Clarke, Ben Duckett, Joey Evison, Haseeb Hameed, Tom Moores, Steven Mullaney (c), Chris Nash, Samit Patel, Peter Trego.
