O’Driscoll In At The Mill

Mansfield Town have cemented another capture to their playing staff as defender Aaron O’Driscoll joins after impressing in a trial game against Nottingham Forest under 23’s earlier in the week.

O’Driscoll was released by Premier League Southampton this summer after four years at St Mary’s Stadium and the Dublin born centre back aged 21 is said to be in Manager Graham Coughlan’s immediate plans saying “As a central defender, Aaron will cover and compete for a first team place.”

“He is comfortable on the ball, as you would expect from someone coming from Southampton’s Academy.”

“Aaron has lots of potential and with some suitable coaching we might just have a top player on our hands.”

“Obviously a pattern is beginning to emerge as to the route we’re going down as a club, with young, hungry emerging talent, which is why our senior players will be vital leaders to our young players this season.”

O’Driscoll joins a whole host of numbers in at the club with many changes made by the Manager for the season ahead as the Stags hope to be pushing towards the promotion places come next May.
