Notts Back In T20 Action

After seeing out their 4 day season with a draw against Durham earlier this week, Nottinghamshire are back in T20 action as the Outlaws take on Lancashire Lightening tonight at Trent Bridge before facing Derbyshire on Sunday in back-to-back home games.

For Notts a win will take them to outright top position in the North Group with breathing space on their second placed rivals Lancs who share the same points as the current league leaders but have a slightly inferior run rate.

Dan Christian’s side are favourites to go through to the Quarter Finals from their group but at the half way stage sitting on eight points have plenty to do before they can even consider a second successive run through to finals day in the Vitality Blast. Nottinghamshire have enjoyed the T20 competition in recent years having won it in 2017, you have to go as far back as 2015 for the last time they didn’t reach the last eight.

Christian, Alex Hales and Pakistan bowler Imad Wasim are all added to the squad that is a strong 14 to face Lancashire knowing a win will take Notts a step nearer target to knockout stage qualification.

With Derbyshire visiting Trent Bridge on Sunday it could be a huge weekend for the team as they aim to emulate the stars of 2017 and the side that beat Birmingham Bears as they look to achieve success with the class of 2020.

Notts From: Jake Ball, Matthew Carter, Zak Chappell, Dan Christian, Joe Clarke, Ben Duckett, Luke Fletcher, Alex Hales, Tom Moores, Steven Mullaney, Chris Nash, Samit Patel, Peter Trego, Imad Wasim.

Tonights match will start at 6pm and will be screened live through the Trent Bridge website here and you can also watch live with Nottingham Sport.
