Ekow Essuman beat Frenchman Cedrick Peynaud to win the IBF European Welterweight title live on BT Sports last night as the Botswanan born Nottingham man took a unanimous decision on points.
Essuman aged 31, dominated with his jab and combinations against a boxer outside his attacking depth in taking on quality opposition although one that previously took Connor Benn the distance, he was always going to be tough to take down.

After ten rounds of boxing Essuman’s lead was 100-90, 98-93 and 98-92 to become an easy unanimous winner on all three of the judges scorecards taking the engines tally to 14 wins from 14 fights with attention now looking towards much bigger things.
