Tough Draw For Notts Sides In FA Cup

The draw for the second qualifying round of the FA Cup was made earlier today and Worksop Town of the Northern Premier League South East Division have been drawn a tricky looking tie all be it at home against Chester City.

Former League side Chester now play in the National League North and are two steps above Worksop who beat Westfields in the week to reach the next stage.

It looks to be an even tougher test for AFC Mansfield who produced one of the shocks of the last round in beating Gainsborough Trinity 3-0 at the Forest Town Arena. The Bulls reward for victory is a trip to Boston United as Matt Chatfield’s side take on National League North opposition.

FA Cup newcomers Newark FC also have a tough test as they are away at Mickleover (formerly Mickleover Sports). Newark of the Midland Football League thumped AFC Rushden & Diamonds 5-0 in the last round and will take on Northern Premier League opponents from Derby who sit two steps above them on the ladder.

All matches have been scheduled to be played on Saturday 3rd October with 3pm kick offs advised.

Fixtures will have no replays and no extra time, matches ending in ties will go straight to a penalty shootout.
