After a magnificent weekend of action that saw goalscoring goalkeepers and shootout wins our Nottinghamshire clubs (still involved) have now learned of their plight for the next round of the FA Vase as the qualification stages are over, the draw has been made for the first round proper of the competition with a whopping £825 per team up for grabs for each winner.
After a stoppage time leveller from goalkeeper Joe Searson before the same man helped his side to a penalty shootout win against Ollerton Town, Radford FC have an away trip to Paget Rangers who are based in Sutton Coldfield.
Rainworth Miners Welfare who like Radford, drew 3-3 against East Midlands Counties League opposition (in Gedling MW) also won via spot kicks. The former runners-up of the competition back in 1982 will host Belper United in the next stage in what will be again familiar opponents with Belper based in the EMCL.
Finally Northern Counties East League high flyers AFC Mansfield who have had a terrific start to their season, will travel to Stone Old Alleynians, based in Staffordshire who play in the North West Counties Division One South.
All ties are scheduled to be played over the last weekend of October with the majority likely to go ahead on Saturday 31st.
