Both Radford and Newark FC are through to the third round of the Buildbase FA Vase after winning their respective behind-closed-doors matches in the second round of the competition yesterday.
Radford of the East Midlands Counties League beat Bewdley Town of the West Midlands Premier League at Selhurst Street as the home side made club history to reach their furthest stage of the competition and round three for the first time ever.
Calum Law, Joe McLaughlin and Ashley Smith netting second half goals for the Pheasants before a late consolation in what was a momentous occasion for the club.
Joining them and also representing the county of Nottinghamshire and the Notts FA are Newark FC who beat Boldmere St Micheals 4-3 in a thrilling game away against fellow Midland League opposition.
Newark lead 3-0 at one stage with two goals for Danny Meadows sandwiching a Craig Westcarr strike.
The Sutton Coldfield based side though fighting back to 2-3 before Westcarr gave breathing space to the tangerines although another late reply ensured it was a nervy ending as Newark clung on for victory to make the third round draw.
