Nottingham Forest 3-1 Millwall (EFL Championship) 16.01.21
Nottingham Forest made it seven games unbeaten and three wins in a row after a convincing victory against Millwall at the City Ground.
The Reds started spritely and had three chances within the first ten minutes as Christie shot wide on four before Grabban shot straight at Bialkowski on eight minutes and two minutes later Sammy Ameobi failed to find the target from 20 yards.
Ameobi had scored one goal in 22 matches this season but the long legged winger scored his first goal since the draw against Rotherham in October as he shot from distance on 34 minutes to give Forest a deserved lead.
Millwall might have levelled almost immediately after as Grabban cleared off the line from Hutchinson’s header following a Lion’s corner eight minutes before the break.
In the second half Cafu forced Bialkowski into an early save after his free kick on 53 minutes was curled neatly around the wall. Ten minutes later Grabban hit the side netting as the Reds knocked on the door before Sammy grabbed his second of the game after linking up with Mighten with a neat interchange before curling home a fantastic goal left footed from the edge of the Millwall area after cutting inside from the right wing.
With six minutes left a low Cafu corner was volleyed home at the near post by Yates and although Millwall pulled one back through Ben Thompson in the final few minutes, it was Forest’s day as Chris Hughton’s men continue their unbeaten start to 2021.
