Notts County have made another loan signing as they look to temporarily fix the void left by the injured Richard Brindley as the Magpies bring in Salford City’s Tylor Golden on a month-long deal until March 23rd.
21-year-old Golden started his career at Wigan Athletic before joining Salford in 2020 and will be a solid addition as cover but might not be available for the trip to Stockport County this evening, instead Manager Neal Ardley will have him earmarked in for a potential debut on Saturday.
The Manager said of his signing “He’s athletic, really honest and hard-working. He’ll run up and down that line as much as he physically can.”
“He’s got a good cross on him, he’s physically robust, puts himself about and defends for his life.”
Ardley said “There’s a bit of a grey area with Richard Brindley. It might take him a month just to get back into full training, but it may take him a month for him to be fit to play games.
“If it’s the former, he’ll need another two weeks to get back to where he needs to be.
“With Tylor, initially we’ve done a month and if we want to extend that we’ll have the conversation with Salford.”
Notts have had some positive news with the rehabilitation of winger Cal Roberts who’s been out since November with a groin injury.
Neal Ardley stating last week “I’ve told him that if he can get his fitness levels into a good place, I’d consider him for the squad against Oxford City.
“I’ve dangled that carrot for him but I obviously don’t want him to push too hard. He’s got to be right and he’s got to get the hard yards in because, without them, he’ll get injured.”
The Oxford City match in the FA Trophy sixth round is on Saturday 27th February and offers the Geordie man a real opportunity to get back on the pitch following frustrating times in recent months.
Tonight Notts are at Stockport in a 7:45pm kick off at Edgeley Park, the Magpies up against fellow promotion contenders will be looking to bounce back after disappointing result and performance against Chesterfield at the weekend.
