Notts Capture Nemane
Notts County have signed flying winger Aaron Nemane from Torquay United after the Frenchman turned down a deal to stay at Plainmoor for a lucrative move Trentside and the ability to help with the Magpies promotion push.
Like Ed Francis who also signed yesterday, Nemane who signs for Notts on a two year contract, is a former Manchester City Youth player and like Kyle Cameron who signed earlier in the summer window, he makes his move from the Gulls, knowing what the National League is all about.
Born in Amiens, France, Nemane moved to City from his hometown club in 2012 and spent time on loan at Rangers, Go Ahead Eagles in Holland and Tubize in Belgium before joining Torquay on a permanent deal in 2019.
Last season the speedster played 18 times in the National League scoring three goals before injury ended his campaign prematurely.
On signing, Nemane said “We played Notts three times last season and I like their style. They struck me as a very good side and it’s a massive club, so it was a no-brainer for me to come here.”
“I can’t wait to get on the ball, take players on and create chances. I want to add more goals to my game, along with assists, and that’s what I’m going to try and do this season.
“I’ll do my best wherever the manager puts me but I’m comfortable out wide and in more central positions. We’ll just have to wait and see.”
Head Coach Ian Burchnall said the Frenchman can play a variety of positions, suggesting “Aaron is one of the quickest players in the league.”
“He’s very good one-against-one and can play as a winger in a 3-4-3, as a wing back or even as a number 10.”
“He’s a different type of wide player to what we’ve got at the moment. Aaron is direct in his running and likes to get in behind to stretch the play.”
