After defeat at the weekend in the most agonising of fashions, Nottingham Rugby return to Lady Bay on Friday night, looking to bounce back with a win against Hartpury in the third match of the 2021/22 RFU Championship season.
Nottingham lost to Richmond at the weekend, conceding an 80th minute try, dramatically losing 27-24 in a game they were leading comfortably 3-24 shortly in to the second half.
Ahead of the match with Hartpury, Nottingham Head Coach Craig Hammond stated “They’re a good team and they’re coached pretty well. They’ve made some good signings this year. They knocked over Cornish Pirates at the weekend and put a few points on the board too.”
“They look really good so we know how powerful they’re going to be. They’re pretty strong up front and they can score some good tries as well.”
“We’ve got to make sure we get our house in order because we didn’t finish the job off last week. It’s going to be another battle but it’s at home and we love playing here. We like getting the crowd involved and putting on a performance.”
Nottingham who won their first match of the season against Ampthill 36-26 are currently third in the table behind unbeaten Jersey Reds and second placed Coventry, whilst Hartpury like Nottingham, have won one and lost one of their first two games, they currently sit ninth in the eleven team table.
