Bedford Blues 40-9 Nottingham (RFU Championship) 27.11.21
After winning last time out against bottom of the table London Scottish, Nottingham were brought back down to earth with defeat on a blustery Autumnal afternoon in Bedfordshire.
The home side were too strong and took a thirteenth minute lead when Adamson went over for a try which was converted by Maisley.
The Archers struck back with successive Elliott Bale penalties before Elliot restored the two score advantage with a second try, helped by Maisey’s second conversion of the match which put the Blues 14-6 up.
Bale struck a third penalty to reduce the deficit to five at the break but the home side ran away in a second half that saw another try for Adamson after just two minutes before Maisey went over and converted his own touch down on the hour.
Adamson grabbed his hat-trick and a bonus point for Bedford which was this time converted by Grimoldby before Tapley rounded things off with the final play of the game, Grimoldby again doing the honours to inflict a crushing defeat on Craig Hammond’s men.
Nottingham still sit second bottom with eight games played, next up is second placed Jersey at the Bay on Friday night under the lights.
