Basford United announced the loan signing of forward Tyreace Palmer from Notts County.
The 19-year-old signed a professional contract at Meadow Lane back in May after rising to prominence with his goalscoring exploits for the Magpies’ U18 side which saw him called up to the senior side.
He later made his debut as a substitute in their FA Trophy trip to Havant and Waterlooville and was selected to start against Oxford City in the same competition weeks later.
Palmer had been playing at Melton Town in the United Counties League, Premier Division North to regain fitness and scored 6 times in as many games, including a hat-trick against Eastwood Community earlier this season.
Elsewhere, striker Paddy Webb has been recalled after a short spell at Quorn.
Webb, 23, joined Basford in December but was sent out to the Leicestershire side to build up fitness levels and match sharpness.
The striker scored 3 in 3 for the Fox Hunters, including two against Heanor Town last time out.
Niall Towle and Alex Howes have also been recalled from their loan spells at Carlton Town, as does midfielder James Tague who will re-join Mark Clifford’s squad from a period at Corby Town.
More good news from Greenwich Avenue as influential midfielder Callum Chettle is now back in full training following successful knee surgery and is expected to return to the first team squad in the next week.
Ollie Clark – who signed from Carlton a year ago and has yet to feature – is now within days of resuming full contact training and looks likely to return to first team match play within a month.
Young striker Wayde Hines – who has been absent all season through injury – has been given the all clear to step up his rehabilitation after recent scans show no serious or underlying issues.
Finally the club have agreed the sale of Terry Hawkridge and Marcus Marshall to Matlock Town for an undisclosed fee. The club accepted the offer following a request from the Gladiators.
Marshall, 32, arrived at Greenwich Avenue from Matlock on deadline day back in March 2020, but never featured due to the 2019-20 season’s curtailment through Covid-19 and only played 12 games in the annulled 2020-21 campaign.
Despite injuries and suspension, the striker made 24 appearances and scored three times for Mark Clifford’s men in all competitions this season.
Midfielder Hawkridge put pen-to-paper in September last year after the extent of Callum Chettle’s long-term injury became clear to senior officials.
The 31-year-old has also featured 24 times in United colours this season. Both players are likely to feature in Town’s Northern Premier League encounter with Scarborough on Tuesday.
