Nottingham Panthers could be without two of their main stars for this weekends double header against Belfast Giants in Northern Ireland.
Ollie Betteridge (lower body) will not be joining the side as they fly to Belfast for the Elite League matchup after the GB international had to leave practice on Wednesday following a collision with a team mate.
After being checked over by the clubs Lead Sports Therapist Laura-Jo Bowler, prior to a hospital visit on Wednesday evening, Betteridge is initially listed as week-to-week.
The club state “Ollie will remain in Nottingham this weekend as he awaits an MRI scan to determine the full extent of the injury.
Once that scan has taken place an update will be provided.”
Another injury doubt is Massimo Carozza who left Sunday’s overtime win in Glasgow with a lower body injury following a collision in front of the Clan goal just as the third period came to a close.
The forward has been taking part in off-ice workouts, alongside rest & rehabilitation, since getting back to Nottingham and has responded well to to the treatment programme put in place by Lead Sports Therapist Bowler.
Massimo has however travelled with the team to Belfast and his participation in the weekend’s games will be determined at Friday’s pre-game skate.
Friday’s face off is 4pm at the SSE Arena Belfast with Saturday’s start time 7:30pm at the same venue.
