Basford United were beaten 1-0 by a Mansfield Town XI last night as the Stags progress to play Newark FC in the semi-finals of the Notts FA Senior Cup.
The quarter final win for Mansfield concludes the teams involved in the final four with the other tie in the semi between Carlton Town and Nottingham Forest U23’s to be played on Tuesday 12th April at the Bill Stokeld Stadium.

In the Northern Counties East League Premier Division on Tuesday night, Sherwood Colliery were held to a 1-1 draw at Knarseborough. The Wood took a second half lead through Ethan Wiesztort before a Colin Heath goal seven minutes before time squared things up, Sherwood are now fifth in the table, six points away from Eccleshill United in second having been beaten by the Bradford based side at the weekend.
In Division One there were wins for Rainworth Miners Welfare and Retford on Tuesday night as the Wrens beat Hall Road Rangers 1-0 away and the Choughs saw off their hosts Shirebrook 2-0.
Ollerton Town were beaten 5-2 at Humber United with one plus to take out of the match that striker Gav King netted his 103rd club goal in 150 appearances.
This weekend in the NCEL top flight AFC Mansfield take on Staveley Miners Welfare who despite sitting mid table have asked to step down a division next season, Sherwood Colliery will be looking to bounce back from two disappointing results as they visit bottom of the table Athersley Recreation.
In the first division, Retford now seventh will visit fourth placed Harrogate Railway, second bottom Clipstone take on league leaders Hallam whilst Rainworth travel to Glasshoughton and Ollerton host Shirebrook. Finally Teversal visit the idyllic village of North Ferriby to take on the division’s second best team. All games are pm kick off.
Two games involving Notts sides in the United Counties League this midweek as Selston lost 3-1 at home against Gresley Rovers whilst West Bridgford were hammered 8-1 at home against Hinckley.
Finally in the Central Midlands League there was a 5-0 win for Retford United against Collingham on Wednesday night in the Premier Division North.
The win brings the Badgers to within three points of leaders Newark Town at the top of the table although Club Thorne Colliery in third like Retford have 67 points and two games in hand on the two sides above.
