Cup Draws For EMWRFL Clubs

This past week has seen the draw made for the opening round of the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League (EMWRFL), League Cup First Round, and within which sees the fate of the ten, Nottinghamshire clubs.

Last seasons’ League Cup winners, Derby County Academy, are no longer in the EMWRFL, whilst the Plate winners, Andi Bell’s Mansfield Town Ladies, kick-off with one of two, derby matches, in the First Round, the losers from which will drop down into the Plate, they entertaining Daniel Corlett’s Nottingham Trent University Women at the One Call Stadium.

The other derby match drawn (for Notts clubs) in the opening round, will see the re-named Basford United Ladies welcome league newcomers Mansfield Hosiery Mills Women to the Mill Street Recreation Ground.

Of the remaining six, Notts clubs, in the competition, Arnold Eagles Women sees Peterborough United Ladies Development travel to the Calverton Miners Welfare Trust, Sherwood Women head to Dronfield Town Ladies’ Stonelow Playing Fields, SJR of Worksop Women welcome Oughtibridge War Memorial Women to the Rockware Glass Sports & Social Club, whilst the other league newcomers, West Bridgford Colts Women, they find themselves on the road at Kettering Town Women, and a trip to Latimer Park.

Then there’s the two, Notts County clubs, both of whom have been drawn at home; Adam Dunleavy’s Seniors entertain Loughborough Foxes Vixens Women, whilst Thomas Hodges; Development team welcome Ilkeston Town Ladies (check respective clubs socials – Basford & Notts clubs, as to venue for their respective, cup ties).
