Archers Aim To Go Top

Nottingham Rugby can go joint top of the table on Friday night should they beat Doncaster Knights at Lady Bay. The side have had a solid start to the RFU Championship season so far and a win could take them level on points with league leaders Jersey and second place Ealing who have a maximum fifteen points from three games played.

The Archers are currently fourth in the table with two wins and a defeat having bounced back from a narrow loss against Cornish Pirates in week two to beat Caldy last Saturday, but Doncaster will be a tough task, the Knights currently fifth with a near identical record in the table to Nottingham.

After opening day of the season victory at London Scottish, Craig Hammond’s side were leading Cornish Pirates by ten points early in the second half of their first home match the following week but fell to an agonising 23-19 defeat.

Last week however, things went much better as tries from Liam Slatem, Ryan Olowofela and Harry Graham helped the Archers towards a 27-19 win on the road.

This weekend, under the lights on Friday night, Nottingham do battle again. Whilst leaders Jersey are in action on the same night, they face Cornish Pirates in a tough battle for both sides involved, Ealing are at Coventry on Saturday.

Kick off is 7:45pm at the Bay with tickets available on the Nottingham Rugby website.
