Arnold Earn Win Over Gresley
Arnold Town are up to eleventh place in the Central Midlands Alliance Premier South following a battling, 2-1 win, at home to Gresley Rovers Reserves, on Saturday afternoon, whilst in the Premier North, it was defeat for both Blidworth Welfare, and Ollerton Town, with SJR Worksop battling to a 3-3 draw.
Now seven points off safety, the Eagles collected what was only their sixth league win of the season, and did so against the odds; their ‘keeper was injured in the warm-up which saw Kurt Hallam go in goal, then they fell a goal behind before taking victory with goals from Gerarrd Hallam, and Adam Stevenson.
Linby Colliery Welfare meanwhile, they exited the Bucks Insurance League Challenge Cup when away to Wirksworth Ivanhoe, Zach Hamilton netting for the visitors in a 1-1 draw, before dropping out 3-2 on penalties.
The three games in the Premier North saw defeat for both Blidworth, and Ollerton, against the top two, the former losing 2-1 away to second place Doncaster City, Jordan Turner netting, and the latter 3-1 at home to leaders Dinnington Town, Adam Scott with the goal.
Meanwhile, sitting comfortably in thirteenth place, SJR Worksop battled to a 3-3 draw when home to Harworth Colliery, the point for the visitors seeing them leapfrog Ollerton on goal-difference.
Callum Edwards bagged a hat-trick for Harworth, who were two-goals to the good at the interval, however, a second half rally from the hosts saw them snatch a point following goals from Joe Bean, Oliver Perry, and with three minutes remaining, an equaliser from Kyle Wesley.
There was also a handful of games for Notts clubs in Division One, two of which were cup matches, Kirton Brickworks progressing to the next round of the Div1 Cup with a 4-1 home win over Southwell City Development, whilst SJR Worksop Development, they lost 5-4 on penalties, following a 2-2 draw, away to Crowle Colts Development.
The one league game played saw Mansfield Hosiery Mills Blue move second, on goal-difference with Ashland Rovers, following a 2-0 win at home to Eastwood & Kimberley, who are fourth.
And in Division Two, Ashland Rovers Reserves picked up a 3-0 win, to move into sixth place, when home to third bottom Winster Darley Lions.
