Mean Grace Continue To Shut Out
FCV Grace Dieu’s seemingly unstoppable march towards to the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division title continued in emphatic fashion on Saturday afternoon when putting visiting Wollaton to the sword.
In collecting their 22nd league win of the season, the league leaders are presently eight unbeaten in all competition, and sixteen unbeaten in the league – recently that run has seen them collect seven consecutive clean sheets as ‘keeper Samuel Edwards and his stingy defence have not conceded now for some 630+ minutes.
Against visiting Wollaton, who are tenth, the goals flowed as the hosts racked up a 7-0 win; there’s been nineteen different scorers this season, and against Wollaton Samuel Warburton bagged a hat-trick, Alis Hallaci a brace, as well as one apiece for Hassan Farouq and Spencer Weir-Daley.
Beeston are next in line to try and halt the FCV juggernaut, before the leaders hit the road with their remaining, nine games, all on the road.
Cotgrave are second, fifteen points adrift, with three games in hand, but were made to battle for a point in their 3-3 draw away to Borrowash Victoria, Lewis Robertson with a brace and Scott Litchfield the other for the visitors, the hosts netting via Gerson Diaz, Mason Tudgay, and Josh Lee.

picked up a 6-1 win at Wollaton Reserves, whilst mid-table Arnold Town Reserves won 5-1 at home to FC Pelican.
Beeston Reserves head up Division Three by nine points from second place Cotgrave Reserves, who’ve two in hand, both having collected home wins; the former saw off visitors Collingham Reserves, 4-0, thanks to goals from Samuel Morgan, Oluwadamilare Oguntuga, Anthony Peach, and Reuben Rose, whilst the latter won 1-0 against Ravenshead Reds.
Parabellum are joint-second after they were held to a 1-1 draw with visiting Trent Vineyard, whilst fourth place Langwith Whitestar win 2-1 at home to East Leake Robins Reserves.
Seventh place Rushcliffe Reserves were the days’ top scorers, romping to a 16-1 home win over bottom club Nottingham Greens (their goal difference now stands at minus 100 after nineteen games).
Jack Pearson would fire seven of Rushcliffe’s goals in the rout, Kieren Brittan adding a hat-trick, with further goals coming from Crisean Akintan, Deriece Duncan, Joel Goodacre, Tayonne Thomas, Zane Folorunso, and substitute Kaiyus Walton.
A handful of games were also played in the Development Division, Newark & Sherwood moving top on goal difference from Attenborough after they won 7-1 away to Cotgrave, Joseph Kingsman and Kalvin Osborn both grabbing braces.
