Newark & Sherwood Wrap Up Development Title
Titles won, and titles all but won, in the Euro Soccer Nottinghamshire Senior League, but there’s still plenty to play for a well as we head towards the closing weeks of the 2024-25 season.
FCV Grace Dieu can wrap up the Premier Division next weekend, if they avoid defeat both in midweek, and next Saturday, and picked up yet another win this past weekend when away to Beeston; picking up a routine, 2-0 win, it would be an own-goal, and one for Carver Grossman, that gave them the points this times around.
Keyworth United lead the battle for third place, a point ahead of Aslockton & Orston, as the former won 2-0 at Radcliffe Olympic and the latter were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Awsworth Villa; Jack Oldham and Stan Logan gave Keyworth the points in their win, whilst in the Aslockton versus Awsworth game Sam Brakewell and James Hallam netted for the hosts, Harry O’Neill and Ben Watson replying.
Fifth place Borrowash Victoria were also involved in a 2-2 draw, being held when away to Woodthorpe Park Rangers, whilst there were 2-1 wins for Southwell City Reserves, at FC Cavaliers, and Ruddington Village, home to Collingham.
Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves are a victory away from lifting the Division One title, although they were held to a 1-1 draw away to Sandiacre Town on Saturday gone, and need to beat a PMG Excel side Saturday coming, they having won 8-1 at Rushcliffe thanks to a hat-trick from Noah Tesfalem, and braces by Jamous Adim and Bachir Tyera.
Results elsewhere in the division would see East Leake Robins held to a 1-1 draw at home to AC United, Meden Vale Colts beat Bilborough TRD 2-0, and Colsterworth beaten 3-2 off visitors Hucknall Town Reserves, for whom Connor Whiles netted twice.
Bradley Scard notched twice as Stapleford Town Reserves won 3-2 at Clifton All Whites Reserves, and Bingham Town edged Ravenshead 2-1 in the other two games.
The Division Two title race can still be pushed to the final weekend after leaders Elston United were held to a 1-1 draw with visiting Reindeer, and second place Gedling Southbank won 2-1 at FC Pelican.
Rossoneri won their game 3-1 at home to Calverton Miners Welfare and the game between Wollaton Reserves and Greyfriars saw the sides share six goals, in an entertaining, 3-3 draw.
Beeston Reserves have wrapped up the Division Three title, and on Saturday there was a 2-1 victory for second place Cotgrave Reserves, at home to Langwith Whitestar, Parabellum won 6-2 at Awsworth Reserves (Dillon Roberts with five), and Collingham Reserves won 3-1 at home to Phoenix Athletic.
As for the Development Division, Newark & Sherwood have wrapped up the title this past weekend following a nervy, 2-2 draw, away to Warriors, thanks to second half goals from Thomas Clarke and Alex Bowkett, Alex Robinson and Jake Warrener netting for the hosts.
Attenborough meanwhile won 7-0 away to Cotgrave, Lewis Caine with two of the goals, whilst there was a 3-0 win for Pegasus at home to South Notts, and a 4-1 win for Linby at West Bridgford, Oskar Janczarek with a brace in the latter.
