Mansfield Win County Cup
Mansfield Town are aiming to finish another, credible season, with a cup double, following this past week’s Nottinghamshire FA Women’s County Cup success.
Having finished third in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League, for the second time in three seasons, Andi Bell’s side lifted the County Cup on Thursday (7 May) night following a 1-0 win over Notts County Reserves.
The only goal of a tight, well-contested encounter, arrived in the first half, Olivia Standeven heading home a corner; they’ll now oppose Loughborough Foxes Vixens in the EMWFL League Cup final this coming Sunday (17 May) afternoon at Eagle Valley.

The EMWRFL Plate final, kicking off late morning on 17 May, will be between SJR Worksop and Gainsborough Trinity, SJR having staved off relegation from the EMWRFL Premier Division, wrapping up their league campaign in style a little over a week ago.
That was a home encounter with bottom of the table, Wellingborough Town, SJR romping to a thumping, 10-1 win, Laura Ferguson with a hat-trick alongside braces for both Millee Clarke and Emily Myatt.
Across the EMWRFL Division One leagues, Nottingham Trent University are Division One Central champions, on goal -difference from runners-up, Asfordby Amateurs; University of Nottingham finished in third, whilst Basford United rallied to finish fifth.
At the bottom end of the table, Sherwood and West Bridgford Colts are the bottom two, the former finishing ahead of the latter on goal-difference.
In Division One North, Arnold Eagles finished joint-second with Dronfield Town, the latter besting them on goal-difference also, whilst Notts County Development ended the season sixth, and Newark Town a credible seventh.
Two games were played in the Nottinghamshire Girls & Ladies League Seniors One, Mansfield Town Development picking up a 4-0 win at home to NTU Pink, and Radcliffe Olympic winning 3-0 at Lowdham Colts.
Hucknall Town are the NGL Seniors One champions whilst Calverton Miners Welfare are currently second, but can drop to third if Radcliffe Olympic win at Mansfield Town Development this coming weekend.
