7 Changes For Pirates Visit

Nottingham Rugby have made seven changes to the side that was beaten at Hartpury last week as they face a tough tie against Cornish Pirates at The Bay on Friday night (7:45pm kick off).

The Pirates have already beaten Nottingham this season in the group stages of the Championship Cup but in the league have a near identical record having won two and lost one of their three games played.

Nottingham Head Coach Neil Fowkes said on his squad selection “It was always part of the plan to make some changes. We’re not going to use injuries as an excuse but we’ve got a thin squad. We’ve lost two centres, two second-rows and two back-rowers so we need to be in a position where we can bring players in and refresh those boys and help those boys get back on to the pitch.”

Fowkes stated “Leicester (Tigers) have given us some help this week which means we’re able to cover off some of those positions where we don’t have cover, so a big thanks to Leicester for that.”

The Green and Whites will be looking to get back to winning ways against a side who like Nottingham were beaten last time out against Newcastle Falcons.

The game kicks off at 7:30pm with tickets available and don’t forget the Rugby World Cup Final between England and South Africa will be shown live at the Bay this Saturday morning with free entry and parking available. Doors open at 8am.

Starting Team: Sean Scanlon, Jack Spittle, Harry Strong, Luke Peters, Kyran Bungaroo, Shane O’Leary, Alex Dolly, Jamie Jack, Luke Cole, Billy Walker, Llewelyn Jones, Cameron Jordan, James Connolly, Will Owen, Josh Poullet.

Replacements: Ben Brownlie, Tom Hill, Oisin Heffernan, Sam Lewis, Tui Uru, Murray McConnell, Johnny McPhillips, Joe Thomas.
