NSL Roundup: Bingham Increase Gap

In a rain effected weekend there were still six games played in the Nottinghamshire Senior League and leaders Bingham Town were able to increase the gap at the top to six points after beating Attenborough 4-2 at Butts Field whilst AFC Dunkirk in second slipped up at Keyworth United.

Keyworth’s Scott Litchfield, Jake Fisher and Ryan Tinsley were amongst the scorers in a 3-1 win whilst George Harrison responded with what was in the end little consolation for the second placed team.

Taking advantage of Dunkirk’s slip up were Southwell City who moved up to third after a comfortable 6-0 win over bottom of the table FC Cavaliers with Calum Law grabbing a hat-trick.

Elsewhere Wollaton beat Cotgrave 2-0 thanks to Stephen Ahern and Josh Stevenson whilst Bilborough Town beat Eastwood Development and Calverton Miners Welfare came back from ROKO with a 4-1 win at Magdala Amateurs. Amongst the Calverton goals were Mark Draycott, Adam Limb, Alistair West and Lewis Wheelhouse whilst Tom Haw netted for the yellow and blacks.

In the First Division Bridgford United were beaten 3-0 by Ravenshead whilst Kirton Brickworks won 4-0 at Robin Hood Colts and in Division Two Elston United beat Bilborough Town Community 3-2 and Ruddington Village Reserves won 5-2 at Pythian.

With many matches called off the few Notts FA Senior Trophy games that did go ahead produced plenty of goals with West Bridgford beating Top Valley 6-3 thanks to four from Marcus Browne and Ruddington Village beating United Grays 3-1.

Hucknall Town Development won 2-0 at Bull Farm A whilst Stapleford Town Reserves were beaten at home to Retford United Reserves 0-4.
