Notts County Women were beaten in the second round of the Notts FA Womens County Cup on Sunday by Rise Park Ladies in a re-scheduled game following the abandonment of the first match after a serious injury to a Rise Park player.
The game played at Arnold FC’s Eagle Valley was a frustrating one for Notts after going behind on 37 minutes through Parker it was the away side who cemented their glory when Waplington finished off for a memorable win that will now see them host Arnold Town Ladies in the Quarter Finals later this month.
That defeat doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the line for Notts as their development squad have made the quarter finals of the competition where they will play Nottingham Forest’s first team. In the two other ties Ollerton Town ladies host Arnold Eagles Development whilst Nottingham Forest Reserves will play Mansfield Town Ladies first team.
A better weekend for Forest’s ladies team who picked up two wins in their two games with the development side beating Bingham Town 8-0 and the Reserves beating Sheffield FC 5-0.
