Magdala Hit For Ten
Only five games survived the weather on Saturday in the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division but Magdala Amateurs of all probably hoped their match at Awsworth would have been called off after falling to a surprising 10-0 loss.
Benjamin Branston was a hat-trick-hero for Villa who also saw Ryan Krause score twice and Gregory Ellis, Liam Towle, Kylion Ricketts all net along with substitutes James Duffy and Daniel Towle.
Almost as big a score was second placed AFC Dunkirk’s emphatic 7-0 triumph at foot of the table FC Cavaliers which helped narrow the gap at the top of the table to within four points after Bingham Town were held to a 1-1 draw at Wollaton.
Woodthorpe Park Rangers slipped to a single goal defeat by Burton Joyce who leapfrog them in the league to fourth place whilst Cotgrave beat Calverton MW 5-2 in a match swapped to Hollinwood Lane.
On Friday night Southwell City were 6-1 victors over Bilborough Town with Bradley McDonald netting four. The Minster Men currently lie third just five points behind the leaders with a game in hand.
In the First Division the only game of the weekend was at Watnall Road as Hucknall Town Development beat West Bridgford AFC 3-2 whilst in Division Two United Grays beat Cotgrave Reserves 10-1 and Stapleford Town Reserves beat Keyworth United Reserves 4-0.
