Forest Head To QPR
Nottingham Forest take on Queens Park Rangers in London tonight knowing a win can further cement their promotion push against a side who have fallen away of late and are now in 12th place but just five points from Forest in sixth.
The trip to Loftus Road will mean former Reds boss Mark Warburton has a chance to take three points against a side he once managed but for Sabri Lamouchi and Forest’s new regime a win will be very much on the agenda as the Reds look to continue a decent run of late after taking seven points from their last three games.
QPR themselves are in a winless run of five matches and were beaten by Fulham on Friday night 2-1 whilst Forest shared a hard earned point at Bristol City following back to back victories against Luton and Derby.
Last season the two sides met in April under different Managers as Forest took a 1-0 win thanks to a Karim Ansarifad goal and this time around under Warburton QPR who’ve earned plaudits for the way they play will be a tough test for Forest especially as their Manager knows all about the opposition he’s facing.
Warburton said “It’s not about me or my relationship with Nottingham Forest. It’s about Queens Park Rangers, our fans and us getting a result against a very, very good Forest team.
Forest will be without Ryan Yates after he was sent off on Saturday with Yuri Ribeiro and Samba Sow also missing.
Yohan Benalouane and Carl Jenkinson should make the trip and Alfa Semedo could get a recall following his injury lay off.
Manager Sabri Lamouchi stated “Yuri Ribeiro needs one or two days more so we hope for Cardiff he will be fit and ready.”
“Alfa Semedo, Carl Jenkinson and Yohan Benalouane are available to come with us in London. Benalouane is important for the team and important for me to have one more solution. He is ready to travel with us because he is training with us but I think it may be too early for him to play from the beginning or for a short time.”
On Yates missing following being sent off on Saturday Sabri said “I spoke with Ryan this morning and of course he was upset and disappointed but he is young. He likes this club, this team and this game and sometimes it is exciting but it was a bad and stupid foul and a logical red card.”
“He will learn because he is smart and very young. I am not worried bout him. He put the team in trouble but himself too because he will be out for three games, what happens after that we do not know.”
“We will see if he is a big miss, but I try to speak about the players ready to play. We have some problems and I need to find the solution.”
Kick Off tonight is at 7:45pm with the game available through Sky Sports for those that cannot attend.
