Cash Prizes New Contract

Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash has been rewarded for some excellent performances this season by being given a new three and a half year deal keeping him at the club until 2022.

Cash has been one of the forerunners of Forest’s success this season converted from a midfielder into a right back of late where he has played sublime often picked statistically as one of the best in his position in the league and known for getting forward from the back and driving at opposition defenders under Coach Sabri Lamouchi’s exciting philosophy.

The 22 year old Bekshire born star joined the Reds Academy in 2014 and made his debut two years later in the 4-3 win against Burton Albion on the opening day of the 2016/17 campaign and has since played 115 matches for Forest scoring 12 goals.

After putting pen to paper Cash said “I can’t thank everyone at the football club, and in my family, enough for all of their help and support. I’m really grateful for everyone’s support and I’m lost for words that I’ve been able to get to this point and I just want to continue my progress.

“Personally I just to try to concentrate on each game and make sure I’m focussed on each challenge. I work hard in training and listen to watch the manager says and then I go out on the pitch and try to contribute with goals and assists whenever I can.”

A likeable player who always gives his all with a brilliant attitude to football and one that if told where to play will always do his best for his manager, team-mates and fans stated “I’m really enjoying my football at the minute and we’re playing some good stuff but we’re only a quarter of the way through the season and there is a lot of football to be played. We’ve just got to keep our feet on the ground and keep taking every game as it comes.”

Cash publicly thanked Gary Brazil the Academy Coach who helped develop his game along with the supporters of Forest although it’s not all been good this week as his house was burgled during his match against QPR although we are not yet sure if anything was taken.

On a brighter note for Cash following his sides 4-0 win on Wednesday and penning a new deal on Thursday he stated “I’m absolutely delighted. It has been a good season so far for us all and I’m really happy to continue my development at this fantastic football club. I’m loving every minute of it at the moment and we just have to try and continue all of the momentum that we’ve built up so far.”
