Nottingham Panthers young defenceman Josh Tetlow has been loaned out to Peterborough Phantoms and will go straight into the side for their National Ice Hockey League game this weekend against Bracknell Bees.
The Phantoms currently lie third in the National Division with Panthers Director of Hockey Gui Doucet stating “We decided to loan Josh to Peterborough on Saturday as we don’t play & with us having a healthy defence he’s had limited minutes so far this season.
“We think it’s best for his development as a hockey player to get ice time so he’s going to go to Peterborough and play some real minutes on Saturday.”
6ft6in Surrey born Tetlow has played 17 times this season in the Elite League for the Panthers but it’s the minutes on ice which has been a major disappointment for the 21 year old who’s not featured nearly enough hence why getting a match down a division will hopefully help with his development.
Elsewhere in the NIHL North (Moralee) bottom of the table Nottingham Lions will be hoping for a better return at the weekend as they take on Whitley Warriors who are currently second. Nottingham lost 13-1 at Solihull Barons on Sunday after being beaten the week before 11-2 by Solway Sharks who currently head the league. The Lions are without a win from their eight league matches played.
Going better are Sutton Sting in fourth who last beat Blackburn Hawks 6-5 on Saturday 17th November and this weekend they travel to Billingham Stars on Sunday for a 6:30pm face off.
