Chessum Moves To Tigers

Young Nottingham RFU Forward Ollie Chessum has sealed a dream move to Leicester Tigers for the 2020/21 season as the England Under 20 star has been recognised by one of the leading Rugby Union clubs in the country for some solid performances in the Championship this year.

The nineteen year old has previously taken part in the Tigers Academy programme and will join the club under transition following two dissapointing campaigns finishing second bottom just a place above the relegated teams for succesive seasons.

Leicester have the record number of league titles (ten) since the National League was founded in 1987 and their Welford Road Stadium often see’s gates in excess of 20,000.

Chessum who made ten appearances scoring one try for the Green and Whites joins Leicester with the blessing of Coach Neil Fowkes who stated “I am really pleased that Ollie has been given an opportunity to go back into a Premiership environment following a successful season with us and we wish him all the best with Leicester Tigers.”

“Through our relationships with the Premiership clubs in our region we can work closely to identify talent that needs further nurturing whilst helping us be successful on the field. Ollie is a fine example of this working.”

“This has been at the core of Nottingham Rugby for many years. Everyone at the club wishes Ollie the best of luck with the move, I am sure that someone with his attitude will be a success.”
