Magpies Ladies To Play At Basford

Notts County Women have agreed a partnership with Basford United Football Club to play at the Northern Premier League sides Greenwich Avenue ground for the 2020/21 season and potentially beyond.

The Magpies will play all their home games at Basford and will also train at the facility with its all-weather pitch suitable for every occasion having often hosted a number of local teams in helping them fulfil fixtures, something the United Chairman Chris Munroe is keen to continue to do.

Notts County Women’s Vice-Chairman Stephen Rooth said “It is an exciting move for the club. It has taken a lot of hard work to get to this stage. The investment in our Girls and Women’s teams represents the clubs ongoing commitment to growing and expanding our Women’s and girls’ development set-up.”

Whilst Magpies First Team Manager Adam Dunleavy stated “The facilities at Basford United are some of the best in the midlands. For both training and Matchdays, the move gives us a home to be truly proud of! Its’s a huge marker in the ambitions of the club and in what we can offer our players.”

The collaboration will no doubt be beneficial to both parties with a number of Notts games called off during the last season they will now be keen to attract larger numbers of supporters with a permanent first class home in the centre of the city.
