Graham St Prims 0-4 Rainworth Miners Welfare (East Midlands Counties League) 26.09.20
Rainworth MWFC put in another excellent performance as they beat Graham Street Prims 4-0 at The Fred Harding Ground.
Ryan Ingram shone the brightest as he scored twice and picked up an assist, Joe Naylor and Julian Topliss also got onto the scoresheet.
The Wrens recorded their second away win of the week following up their 4-1 victory at Teversal on Tuesday.
Despite a scrappy start to the game, it was the visitors who would take the lead in the 9th minute through their first chance of the game. An in-swinging Isaac Fisher corner was nodded onto the crossbar by Joe Naylor before Ryan Ingram latched onto the rebound. Ingram was taken down in front of goal winning a penalty he would soon send into the right-hand side of the goal with ease.
Two minutes later and Ingram had his second of the game as he doubled Rainworth’s lead. A dinked shot outside the box by Craig Mitchell clipped the underside of the bar before Ingram demonstrated his predatory instincts yet again by converting the rebound.
Rainworth would make it three in the 16th minute this time through midfielder Joe Naylor. A freekick taken by Fisher found Naylor unmarked in the box who sent his header looping into the top right corner leaving Prims’s towering keeper with no chance.
It really should have been four in the 20th minute as Prims keeper Danny Brown palmed the ball to Craig Mitchell’s feet. The ball came quickly at Mitchell as he sent his shot narrowly wide of the right post.
The Wrens would find their deserved equaliser in the 35th minute through Julian Topliss. Young forward Ryan Ingram showed quick feet to beat his man before whipping a perfect cross into Topliss at the far post who headed home coolly.
It went from bad to worse for Prims in the second half as Jack Walsh was given his marching orders in the 59th minute.
Walsh caught Fisher in the air leaving the referee with little choice but to produce a second yellow for the Prims man.
In the 90th minute Ryan Ingram had a good chance for his hattrick having been played through by Aidy Harris, but the Prims goalkeeper got down well to make a strong save.
The home side battled well with 10 men in the second half to keep the game at 4-0. Rainworth will be disappointed not have found more goals, however it was another win on the board as the Wrens look to move up the table. Next Saturday Rainworth take on Dunkirk at the Kirklington Road Ground.
