Forest Score Another Win

Nottingham Forest Women again impressed last night as they took on Sheffield FC at the Eastwood Community Stadium and beat the oldest football club in the world 4-1 to move to second spot in the FA Womens National League North.

It was the Reds second successive victory of the season after beating Derby County 2-0 in the East Midlands derby at the weekend with the Reds now level on points with West Bromwich Albion and above Fylde on goal difference.

Forest took the lead on 15 minutes when summer signing Lucy Johnson blasted a free kick home and on the stroke of half time Hayley James made it 2-0 scoring her first goal for the club since moving like Johnson from Leicester City.

Five minutes into the second half Rosie Axten made it three with her second goal in as many games before Rachel Brown, another ex-Leicester City star put the Reds 4-0 up with twenty minutes still to play.

Credit Sheffield who sit bottom of the league yet to record a point from their three games played, they never gave up and pulled one back with five minutes to go but by then the damage was done with the Reds delighted to take all three points on offer.

Next up is Stoke City Ladies away on Sunday in a game played at Norton Miners Welfare which will be a 2pm Kick Off and more importantly will be open for fans to attend.
