It was a soggy day on Saturday at the Nottingham Hockey Centre as Beeston were beaten by a single goal at home to Wimbledon in the rain. A Phoebe Nixon field goal after 31 minutes proving the decisive effort as the visitors move to second in the table.
That defeat, the Bees third in the league this season leaves Beeston ninth in the Womens Hockey League Premier Division with Surbiton up next on the 7th November.
In the Mens Hockey League Premier Division it was almost equally dampened spirits this weekend as Beeston threw away a three goal lead at East Grinstead to draw a thrilling six goal encounter in Sussex.
Chris Proctor gave the Bees an early lead on six minutes and netted two minutes later to double the away sides advantage before Henry Croft made it 0-3 to the Notts outfit within the opening 22 minutes of the match.
The home side pulled one goal back however on the stroke of half time before a second for Joe Naughalty on the hour and in the final minute Louis Gittens levelled to leave Beeston frustrated with just a share of the spoils.
That draw keeps the two sides level on points with Beeston sixth in the table on eight points from five games with a week off next weekend before a trip to Holcombe next up on Sunday November 8th.
