Two young Mansfield Town footballers have been rewarded by their superb form this season as both Jason Law and Tyrese Sinclair have been given contract extensions until 2022.
21-year-old Nottingham born forward Jason Law has only recently broken through into first team proceedings under Nigel Clough who has been impressed with the players displays already stating “He’s done very well in training since we came in and it was only a matter of time before he got an opportunity.”
“He’s someone we want to give some game time to this season, with a view to him being an important player for us next season.”
The former Carlton Town man has nine league appearances for the Stags this season and scored his first club goal against Grimsby Town at the weekend having started all of the last seven matches for Mansfield.
Sinclair, the son of former Chelsea and Leicester defender Frank, joined the Stags after being released by Blackburn Rovers in 2017 and got his first appearance coming on as a substitute against Everton U21’s in the EFL Trophy two years ago.
This season the winger has made ten league appearances, all coming off the bench and like Law, Clough see’s the former Basford United loanee as one for the future at Field Mill.
Clough though hasn’t been able to push the players breakthrough into the first team starting fold just yet, stating of the 20 year old “Tyrese is still on the fringes and probably needs to get some football on loan somewhere. We’ll look at that this season, if not next season.”
