The schedule for the Elite Series Semi-Finals has been drawn up after the four team group was clearly headed by Sheffield Steelers after 12 games played with Nottingham eventually finishing third level on thirteen points with second placed Coventry Blaze and above Manchester Storm at the bottom.
The Panthers will now take on Coventry on Tuesday night (5pm) in the first match of a two legged affair with Sheffield taking on Manchester later on the same day (8:30pm) with Nottingham back in action against the Blaze on Wednesday night at 7pm and the other semi-final played the following day.
The winners will play each other in the final over two matches which will be played this weekend on the 1st and 2nd May to conclude a magnificent return to ice for four of the countries top club sides.
Coventry with the free scoring Tristan Keck in attack have been a tough nut for Nottingham over the four match series so far, the Blaze winning the first two outings against the Panthers by the same scoreline 3-1.
An overtime 4-3 victory for the Blaze last week was cancelled out by the same score, different winner, during Sunday’s final group game with Nottingham finally getting their V against an opponent who’ll be as tough as ever to beat over two legs.
Going well for Nottingham is Canadian forward Christophe Boivin who has netted 8 goals and 8 assists whilst fellow countryman Kevin Domingue has 7 and 9 from his 12 matches played in the group stages, both will be looking to continue their form going into the knock out rounds of the competition.
