Notts To Open Up At Hove

The fixtures for the 2022 summer cricket season have been announced today with Nottinghamshire heading to the South-East coast in early April to start their County Championship campaign at Sussex.

The first competitive match of the new season will be at the idyllic 1st Central County Ground in Hove on April 7th but prior to that, Nottinghamshire will play three friendlies in March. Against Loughborough University at Trent Bridge in a three-day match (22nd to 24th March) before a two-day encounter against Warwickshire at home (26th & 27th) and wrapping up with another two days cricket against Derbyshire (29th & 30th) at the Incora County Ground.

Despite finishing third in Division One last year, Notts will be in Division Two this season for the red ball format after the last two campaigns were tweaked into smaller group stages during COVID complications. Nottinghamshire will match up against Sussex for the opener before a four-day home league match against Glamorgan which kicks off on April 14th.

In the T20 Blast, Notts Outlaws start their campaign against Worcestershire Rapids on Friday 27th May and two days later will feature in a double header at Trent Bridge, as Lightning Women play Southern Vipers before the Outlaws host the Northamptonshire Steelbacks.

With England facing New Zealand at Trent Bridge from the 10th to 14th June, Notts will travel to Leicestershire that same weekend (12-15th) in the County Championship, before returning to T20 Blast action against Birmingham Bears on the 17th.

In late July (31st) Notts will travel to Norfolk in the National Cup before starting their campaign against Sussex in the Royal One Day Cup on 2nd August.
