Notts Bounce Back With Big Win

Notts County 4-1 Kings Lynn Town (National League) 15.04.22

The Magpies returned to winning ways after an uncanny thrashing at the hands of Torquay last weekend, Notts dished out one of their own against National League strugglers Kings Lynn Town at the lane.

The 21st placed Linnets actually took the lead as Gold Omotayo netted after eleven minutes for the away side but when Kyle Wootton restored parity from close range midway through the first half, there looked only to be one winner and that was the home side, strengthened by the return of the recently sidelined Callum Roberts who gave Notts the lead six minutes before half time, firing home from the edge of the area.

It was a much changed Magpies team from the one beaten in Devon 5-1 and another one of those changes, Aaron Nemane netted on the hour to give the homeside a cushion going into the final half hour. The winger curling home right footed as he cut in from the left hand side.

Nine minutes from time Eli Sam made it four to crown off a significant victory, the Belgian finishing after Roberts shot was saved and fell into the strikers path who started the move. Notts in sixth place now have a five point cushion on Dagenham & Redbridge outside the playoffs in eighth.

Next up for the Magpies is second bottom Weymouth on Saturday 23rd April before travelling to bottom of the table Dover Athletic the following Tuesday, six points could further their status in the playoffs with four matches thereafter to finish their season, ambition is still very much a top three finish which will guarantee a play off semi final berth, but making the cut is imperative.

This result will certainly help the chase, a breather now until Saturday and for when the Terras come to town.
