Early United Counties League Division One pace-setters, Clipstone, made it six-wins-from-six in the league on Saturday afternoon following a 3-1 win away to local rivals, Gedling Miners Welfare.

Victory for the Cobras, courtesy of a Drew Allwood hat-trick, sees them two points ahead of second place Shirebrook Town, and six ahead of the sides in joint-third, including Stapleford Town, all three Notts-based sides victorious.

Allwood’s treble for the Cobras took his tally to eight in the opening six games, all three coming in a devastating, twelve-minute spell, around the hour mark; second place Shirebrook meanwhile hit hosts Pinxton for five without reply, Blaise Duruaku bagging a brace for the victors.

Like the leaders, Shirebrook have enjoyed an unbeaten start, with Duruaku also amongst the goals, they coming here alongside efforts from Kian Tansley, Liam Chides, and Haris Diabagate.

Stapleford meanwhile lead the chasing pack, they winning 1-0 at home to Cotgrave courtesy of a George Sharman effort; ither results in the division saw Clifton All Whites win 4-1 at Southwell City with substitute Conner Randall bagging two, West Bridgford Colts won 2-1 at Dunkirk, and Selston drew 1-1 at Sleaford Town.

The remaining game in the division saw Radford fall to a 2-1 loss when home to South Normanton Athletic.

Hereford inflicted another loss on ten-man Worksop Town, Aleksandrs Starcenko seeing red, in their National League North clash, whilst Tyreace Palmer netted the only goal of the game as Basford United won by the same score when at Corby Town in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands.

There was next-to-no joy for local sides in the FA Cup, Sherwood Colliery the only side to progress as Nathaniel Crofts’ effort gave them a 1-0 win away to Boston Town, whilst there were exits for Carlton Town, Eastwood, AFC Mansfield, and Retford, all doing so without scoring.

Three games were played in the UCL Premier North, Newark Town winning 3-1 at Deeping Rangers, Kimberley Miners Welfare registering a 1-0 win at Skegness Town, and Hucknall Town held to a 2-2 draw at Blackstones.

Retford United registered another three points in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division, 3-0 away to Albion Sports, as Oliver Wilson, Ben Ashall, and Carlton Carty, all found the net.

There was a thriller in the Central Midlands Alliance Premier North as Teversal let slip a two-goal, interval lead, when home to SJR Worksop, the visitors emerging victors 4-2; Joshua Parfitt and Tyron Macaskill had Tevie in the ascendency going into the break, before a

second half double from George Colton, and one apiece for Logan Liggins and Alex Boyd, gave SJR the points.

Worksop Town Reserves won 2-0 at Brodsworth Main, whilst Ollerton Town went down 3-0 away to Harworth Colliery in the North, whilst in the South Linby Colliery Welfare were beaten 3-1 at home to Borrowash Victoria, and Blidworth Welfare fell to a 4-1 loss against visiting Wirksworth Ivanhoe.

As for the Nottinghamshire Football League Premier, Beeston lead the way with five-from-five following a narrow, 1-0 home win over Newark & Sherwood United; Awsworth Villa are ahead of Woodthorpe Park Rangers in second, on goal-difference, Villa winning 5-1 at home to Bingham Town, and the Rangers winning 5-2 against visiting AC United.

Reaming games saw Keyworth United win 3-1 at home to Southwell City Reserves, under the Friday Night Lights, Ruddington Village and Wollaton both won 2-0 on the road, at Collingham and Rainworth Miners Welfare respectively, whilst the game between Kimberley MW Reserves and Meden Vale Colts, finished in a goalless draw.
