Changes Ahead Of Jersey Clash
Nottingham Rugby fly off to the Channel Islands for their annual league visit to Jersey in a 3pm kick off against ‘the Reds’ tomorrow and Manager Neil Fowkes has made four changes to the side that lost against Cornish Pirates last weekend.
Forward Danny Qualter returns from a shoulder injury which he picked up in the loss at Hartpury and Aniseko Sio returns to the front row. Ben Foley is also back on the wing whilst recent dual signing from Leicester Tigers Joe Thomas will replace Harry Strong at outside centre.
Jersey sit a bonus point above Nottingham in the table with two wins and two defeats from their four games but suffered a heavy defeat against Newcastle last time out.
Nottingham lost by nine points at home to Cornish Pirates and are expecting an equally tough encounter against Jersey with Coach Neil Fowkes suggesting that “they are always physical with a big forward pack, big driving maul and big scrum” stating “it’s a massive challenge for us” but one which Nottingham will be hopeful of coming through.
Starting Team: Sean Scanlon, Kyran Bungaroo, Joe Thomas, Luke Peters, Ben Foley, Shane O’Leary, Alex Dolly, Aniseko Sio, Luke Cole, Billy Walker, Llewelyn Jones, Danny Qualter, James Connolly, Will Owen, Josh Poullet.
Replacements: Ben Brownlie, Jamie Jack, Oisin Heffernan, Cameron Jordan, Sam Lewis, Murray McConnell, Johnny McPhillips, Harry Strong.
