Tousignant Next To Leave Panthers
As the uncertainty on the start of the Elite League season continues Nottingham Panthers are forced to let another player leave as Mathieu Tousignant departs for Hungarian side SC Csikszerda.
After joining mid-season from DVTK Jegesmedvek, also of Hungary, Canadian born Tousignant played ten games for the Panthers scoring three goals with one assist before the 2019/20 season was cut short for covid.
Since the lockdown of the league, Nottingham have lost Brett Perlini and Sam Herr whilst Mark Matheson and Brian Connelly have also departed all going overseas to ply their trade.
With the Elite League initially hopeful of a late Autumn start to the season it is looking less likely that supporters will be allowed in to venues until 2021 and with many clubs relying on gate receipts to survive it may be a waiting game as to when the season actually gets the green light to go ahead.
With this in mind it is more likely the British clubs will lose players before we see any hope of new signings so Panthers fans may expect more outgoings before news on Ice Hockey’s return improves.
