Clipstone beat a Chesterfield under 18 side 3-2 at the Worksop Van Hire Stadium last night in front of a strong following of three figure support.
In a 7pm Kick Off at the Lido the home side were helped by a Matt Leyland strike and two from Jack Siddall who initially put the Cobras ahead with a fantastic strike on the evening.
In a goal frenzy at a wet West Bridgford, Carlton Town came from two behind to win 5-3 at Regatta Way. Early goals for the home side from Aaron Coyle and Josh Rae had the hosts off to a flyer withing 14 minutes but the Northern Premier League side pulled back the deficit four minutes before half time with a Tom Maddison penalty before a minute later levelling up through Jordan Smith.
The second half was just as entertaining with an own goal putting the Millers in the lead for the first time on the night on 77 before Kamani Wilson struck on 84 to put the game all but out of sight.
Bridgford however refused to lie down and scored themselves with four minutes to play but in the final seconds of the game Kamani Wilson struck his second of the evening to ensure it would be victory for the away side over their plucky East Midlands Counties League opponents.
In another entertaining match involving a local Northern Premier League side Worksop Town came from behind to earn a last minute draw at Garforth Town as the share of the spoils ended 2-2.
Worksop took an early lead through James Baxendale after just three minutes with the home side levelling three minutes after half time before taking the lead with just ten minutes remaining.
The Tigers under Craig Parry however will be no push over this season and it was left to their big striker Gavin Allott to rescue a draw who headed home a ninetieth minute leveller.
Finally a friendly involving another of the counties top sides saw AFC Mansfield beat Harworth Colliery 2-1 in Bircotes with all the goals coming in the second half.
