Woodthorpe Park Rangers and Stapleford Town are keeping pace at the top of the Euro Soccer Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division in the early throes of the season as the two sides, sitting second and third, won on the road on Saturday.
With the leaders Sandiacre Town inactive, the onus was on the chasing pack to close in on a side with ten points from 4 games played, with both Woodthorpe, and Stapleford, involved in nine-goal thrillers; the former of the two would edge a 5-4 success away to Clifton FCB, whilst the latter would score four in each half of an 8-1 win at Radcliffe Olympic, Blaise Duruaku with three and Riley Phillips two.
Other results would see Dunkirk win 3-0 at home to Ravenshead, and Basford CFC claim a 4-1 success at Awsworth Villa, the same result Wollaton notched on Friday night at Keyworth United, Liam Taylor with three for the victors there.
Aslockton & Orston and AFC Top Valley shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, whilst the game between FC Sez and West Bridgford Colts IIs finished 1-1; Hucknall Town Reserves saw their first loss of the season in Division One, the early leaders falling to a 3-0 defeat when home to East Leake Robins, Mason Ball with the goals.

Bradley Mawer would register five goals in Meden Vale Colts’ 6-0 home win over PMG Elite, and AC United scored five on the road, winning 5-2 at Bestwood Colliery; braces were bagged by Arnyda Wenazo and Calum Law, the former helping FC Cavaliers to a 3-1 win at home to Gedling Southbank, and the latter for Southwell City Reserves against visitors Kirton Brickworks.
The other game in Division One would see Stapleford Reserves win 3-1 at home to FC Geordie as Adrian Mcnube, Bradley Scard, and substitute Marcus Thomas registered for the hosts.
Division Two’s early leaders, West Bridgford Colts IIIs, won 4-1 away to FC Mansfield after Callum Lawson and Kayne McKenna Crofts both bagged braces, whilst that Keyworth Reserves (fourth), Blidworth Red (sixth, and Fernwood Foxes (seventh), have games in hand beneath the leaders.
Of those sides, Fernwood were the only ones in action, winning 3-0 away to Calverton Miners Welfare with other results seeing Shirebrook Soldiers see off visiting Pythian, 9-1, Robbie Savage with a double hat-trick, Phoenix Top Spot defeat visitors Greyfriars 3-1, and FC Pelican win 4-2 away to South Notts.
Meanwhile, in Division Three, Southwell City Development are the early leaders, three clear of a chasing pack that sees the top six split by just that; twelve goals were scored in The Rossoneri versus Phoenix Inham game, the hosts knocking out an 8-4 win, as nine more were scored as AFC Bull Farm won 6-3 against visitors Carlton Town Lions Blue.
The remaining, two games, saw Arnold Town Reserves pick up a 4-1 win at home to Wollaton Development, and Elston United scored five without reply on the road at Raveneshead Reds, leadin by four at the break.
