The continued chase of FCV Grace Dieu, by Cotgrave and Collingham, continued at the weekend, all three sides picking up valued three points at home.
The leaders, they won 3-0 at home to mid-table Aslockton & Orston to maintain their four-point lead, Cotgrave won 3-1 at home to Awsworth Villa thanks to goals from Lawrence Cook, Lee Potts, and Lewis Robertson, Robbie Manners replying, and Collingham hit their visitors, FC Cavaliers, for six, and with six differing scorers.
With both Cotgrave, and Collingham, registering their tenth win of the season, the latter, to their immediate disadvantage, have played more games than those around them, defeating Cavs 6-1 with goals from Joseph Hunt, James Evans and William Hollingsworth in the first half, along with second half efforts from Jordan Haywood, and substitutes Harrison Gomm and Kieran Job, the reply coming from Carl Spencer.
Under the Friday Night Lights, Dunkirk AFC moved into seventh place with a comprehensive, 6-0 win, away to bottom club FC Sez, John Fitch netting a hat-trick, whilst the Saturday saw home wins for Beeston (4-0 over Radcliffe Olympic), Wollaton (3-0 against West Bridgford Reserves), and Woodthorpe Park Rangers (3-1 against Ruddington Village).
All three of those home wins saw braces netted for the victors, Daniel Clark doing so for Beeston, Liam Taylor for Wollaton, and Jarrod Westcarr for Woodthorpe as just five points separate Awsworth in ninth, and second bottom Radcliffe Olympic.
AFC Colsterworth enhanced their Division One title credentials with a 1-0 win away to current leaders, Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves, Eathan Milne’s first-half goal the decider with the visitors sitting three points off top spot, in third, with a couple of games in hand.
Bingham Town are sandwiched between, in second place, after they won 3-1 at home to AFC Sandiacre Town, goals coming via Benjamin Castell, Joseph Hornigold, and Kieran Stanley, whilst East Leake Robins are on the coat-tails of the top three, sitting fourth, after they edged an eight-goal thriller at home to mid-table Rushcliffe.
Kyle Sharp notched a brace for the Robins, whilst further goals came via Thomas Hardy, Klaudio Marqeshi, and substitute Nathan Ball, the replies from Callum Baker, Jordan Lambert, and Elliott Morley in a game which saw the sides level at twos-apiece at the break.
Gedling Southbank continue to lead the way in Division Two, despite being held to a 1-1 draw away to third place Greyfriars, Anthony Clarke’s goal ten minutes from time earning a point for the leaders, Luke Hallam netting for the hosts.
Second place Notts Olympic meanwhile picked up a hard-fought, 5-0 home win, against fellow promotion hopefuls, Elston United, whilst there were plenty goals netted at the top end of Division Three, AFC Parabellum with seven at home, Langwith Whitestar and Beeston Reserves five apiece on the road.
It’s Beeston that lead the way there, they winning 5-0 at Rushcliffe Reserves as Samuel Morgan scored twice; second place Langwith won 5-2 at Phoenix Athletic with Owen Biddle netting a hat-trick; and Parabellum, sitting fourth, eased to a 7-0 home win against East Leake Reserves as Mikhia Walters scored three alongside braces from Samuel Raynor and Dillon Roberts.
Cotgrave Development defeated their Linby counterparts 1-0 in the Development Division, whilst in the Devs Cup there were successes for Attenborough, 5-2 at home to Red Sea, and for AFC Warriors, 6-1 at South Notts.
