Robins Hit Old Boys For Six
Aslockton & Orston closed in on the top three in the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division on Saturday afternoon after they won 4-2 away to mid-table Woodthorpe Park Rangers, and Collingham, sitting third, lost 5-2 at Dunkirk.
It was a victory, for Aslockton, that sees them move within a point of Collingham, and with a game in hand, following goals from Sam Brakewell, Pierce Hallam, Jack Robb, and Aidan Loscalzo; they’ve now picked up six wins in their last seven outings.
Dunkirk meanwhile, they helped Aslockton’s cause by inflicting a 5-2 defeat on Collingham, with both Owen Clark and Harrison Machin grabbing braces for the victors; five goals were also netted at Beeston, the hosts losing to a last-minute winner from visitors Ruddington Village, and Jordan Richardson.
Meanwhile, FCV Gace Dieu and Borrowash Victoria contested a quarterfinal match in the NSL Senior Cup, the hosts winning on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
Braces from Harry Pezzolla and Joshua Wright helped East Leake Robins to a 6-1 win away to Beeston Old Boys Association, and closed the gap on Division One leaders, Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves, to three points, although they have a game in hand.
Bingham Town sit third after they were held to a 2-2 draw with PMG Excel, and Meden Vale Colts jumped into sixth following their 3-0 home win over Ravenshead, goals coming from George Camps, Alfie Gaughan, and Jordan Smith, AFC Colsterworth dropping a place after they were held to a 1-1 draw at Stapleford Town Reserves.
Hucknall Town Reserves, they moved into twelfth place, leapfrogging visitors Bilborough TRD, who they eased past 4-0, and moved them to within five points of the top ten, Trevell Lindo grabbing two alongside goals from Oliver Peate and Aaron Roberts.
Division Two leaders were on duty in the NSL Intermediate Cup, progressing to the final four with a 5-2 win at Reindeer FC, Joe Wroughton with two as well as goals from Thomas Hazelwood, James Scott, and Rui Thacker.
In the league, second place Notts Olympic slipped up, losing 2-0 at home to Gedling Southbank, who sit third, whilst fourth place AJ Sport, they won 5-0 at home to FC Cavaliers Reserves.
There was to be ten goals witnessed in the game between Wollaton Reserves, and visitors Calverton Miners Welfare, the hosts winning 7-3, Eugene Adams and Marius Mihai with hat-tricks respectively.
AFC Parabellum have moved into second place in Division Three, seven points off leaders Beeston Reserves, after they edged visiting Langwith Whitestar, 2-1, whilst the game between third place Collingham Reserves and seventh place Rushcliffe Reserves, finished 3-3 at the latter.
As for the Development Division, the Devs Cup saw Linby win 3-1 away to Pegasus, Oskar Janczarek with a brace, whilst there were away wins for both Attenborough (4-1 at Red Sea) and West Bridgford (8-1 at South Notts) in the league.
